私とリュート、出会いから今まで （佐藤亜紀子） ― 2014/06/18 13:24
みなさん、こんにちは、西洋の古楽器のリュートを演奏している佐藤亜紀子です。
写真でもわかるように、リュートはちょっと日本の琵琶にも形が似ていますよね。
それもそのはず、この楽器のルーツはアラブのウードという楽器で、それがヨーロッパに伝わったのがリュート、シルクロードを通って東洋に伝わったのが琵琶なんだそうです。
後ろはこんな風に丸くなっていて、空洞だからとっても軽いんです。
これはまた別のタイプのリュートです。
この楽器はヨーロッパの中世からバロック時代にかけて、広く愛された楽器です。
ヨーロッパの美術館に行くと、リュートが描かれた絵画が結構あります。
当時の王侯貴族や裕福な市民階級の人々が好んで弾いていたことがよく分かります。
実は、この絵、私が大学受験のときに使っていた音楽事典のカヴァーに載っていた絵なんです。
そのときはまだリュートを弾いていなかったし、楽器のことも知らなかったのです。
当時、NHKFMの「朝のバロック」を聞いていて、ルネサンス時代の声楽曲、といっても宗教曲ではなく、世俗歌曲にとても惹かれていました。
フランスの町のざわめきが聞こえるようなフランスのシャンソン（といってもルネサンス時代のですが）を面白いとおもっていたんですね。
大学では音楽史を研究する科に在籍していたのですが、音楽史の本を読んで、作曲家や音楽作品について、その解説を読んで自分の研究をするよりも自分で音を出してみたい、好きな時代の音楽を自分で演奏したいと思い始めました。
そのころ偶然にリュートを教えてくださる師匠に出会いました。
その後、幸運にもドイツとスイスでリュートを勉強することも出来ました。
今考えると、本当に「思い込み」と「勢い」でリュートを始めてしまったような気がします。
「音に溢れた現代社会に必要なのは「静けさ」だ！」なんて自分を納得させるような理由を考えたり。
でも音色がとても優しくて、音楽作品もソロからいろんなアンサンブルまで幅広くあるんです。

リュートに出会ってもう２０年以上立ちます。
帰国してからもいろいろと演奏する機会に恵まれ、ずっと練習ばかりしている毎日ですが、リュートを弾くのが本当に好きなんですね。
だから、今回も絵里ちゃんと一緒にせんくらで演奏出来るのが嬉しいです。
