ベートーヴェン生誕２５０年の２０２０年にむけた企画「ベートーヴェン・プラス」を東京オペラシティコンサートホールで昨年からスタートさせた。Vol.2の今年は9月23日に「初期のソナタの諸相」と副題をつけて行われたばかり。「ソナタ」をキーワードにして、ベートーヴェンの１番、２番、３番、４番のソナタに、２つのロンド（Op.51）、失われた小銭への怒りの愛称で知られる（ベートーヴェンがつけたわけではないが）ロンド･ア･カプリッチョ、それに、ソナタ１９番、２０番を演奏。そして、コンサートの後半部分にプログラムした「プラス」部分には、いずれも最初のソナタである、ショパンの第２番、ブラームスの第２番、そしてコンサートの最後には、シューマンの第１番のソナタを演奏した。もちろん、普通の２時間の演奏会におさまるはずもなく、開演１１：００　終演は１７：００近くになった。ショパンもブラームスも２番であるが、最初に書いた作品はこの２番のほうである。

僕はプログラムの構成を考えている時がとても楽しい。ベートーヴェンプラスの今回の演奏を聴いて、皆さんが音楽の素晴らしさや面白さを感じたり、思いもよらない発見をしてくれたら嬉しいのだ。
