今日はベルリンにある孔雀島（Pfaueninsel）のお話をしたいと思います。
先日、ベルリンの中心から小一時間ほどで行ける孔雀島に行ってきました。
ベルリンのまわりにはいくつも湖がありますが、その中の一つヴァンゼー湖に浮いている島で、その名の通り島には孔雀が放し飼いにされています。
島に着くと美しい孔雀たちが何羽もいて、水辺にはロマンティックなお城があり、ベルリン市内にこんな島があったのだと驚きました。
２〜３時間もあれば島全体を散歩できてしまうような広さで、島の中は時が止まっているかのようなのどかで気持ちの良い場所でした。
